Topic: Creative Commons Licences for Non-Profits
This seminar will begin with an introduction to copyright in the digital environment. We will discuss the use of images, videos and text in our blogs and websites, and discuss the limits of what can be done with copyright materials.
Matt will then introduce the suite of six Creative Commons licences, and will give some practical tips for finding Creative Commons licensed content. Matt will also show attendees how to apply a Creative Commons licence to their own work. Attendees are invited to bring their laptops.
Matt McGregor is Public Lead for Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand, a project of the Royal Society of New Zealand. Prior to working with Creative Commons, Matt taught undergraduate English at the State University of New York. He has also worked in the Media Studies department at Victoria University of Wellington.
