Date: November 1, 2011 - Category: Technology Resources

Computers are incredibly powerful and useful tools… but they’re complicated pieces of machinery. If something goes wrong or needs to be upgraded, you may feel that you need to pay someone to perform the task – which can be a big drain on your budget.

As part of the (now retired) E-Rider program, Wellington ICT released a 170 page learning guide to trouble shooting common computer problems. The document covers six broad topics:

  • Installations, configuration, and upgrading
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Motherboards/ processors/ memory
  • Printers
  • Basic networking
